Community - 2006

2006 United Way Day of Caring

Neosource was again fortunate to participate in the United Way September 8, 2006 Day of Caring. Tulsa, Oklahoma hosts the nations largest Day of Caring with more than 4,000 volunteers completing nearly 400 projects for 65 agencies. The Tulsa Area United Way is striving to reach a goal of $22.5 million by November 9th to fund 170 programs at the 65 agencies reaching about 640,000 people.

For the 2006 project, Neosource again closed its doors and sent all its employees to spiffy up and enhance the courtyard used by employees and students of the Margaret Hudson Program. This program provides a comprehensive range of health, education, counseling and childcare services to pregnant and parenting teens in the Tulsa-Broken Arrow area. This excellent program has been assisting thousands of our youth for many, many years.

Our crew worked very hard, especially removing what originally appeared to be a small area of concrete that would eventually have plants and shrubs. (Our special thanks to Howard and Chris of CENTRAL PLAINS CONCRETE CUTTING, who graciously cut the old concrete to be removed).

From the Margaret Hudson staff, we received breakfast, an abundance of water, a great lunch and significant encouragement as the courtyard was transformed. A special thank you to our coordinator at the program, Betina Tillman.

It continues to be a privilege and an emotional inspiration to help our Tulsa area community. Neosource especially recognizes the anniversary of September 11, 2001 and encourages all of us to use our many blessings, skills and gifts to support our community.
